About Debbie

Acupuncture HealthWorks is a beautifully appointed, professional acupuncture clinic conveniently located in the Chapel Hill portion of North Chatham County. Debbie Grimes is a North Carolina licensed acupuncturist. She is board certified in Oriental Medicine (a dual certification in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology) by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and she is on the Executive Committee and the Board of the North Carolina Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Before practicing in North Carolina, Debbie had a private practice in East Hampton, New York. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Human Development and a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine from fully accredited New York colleges. Her didactic and clinical training includes more than 3000 hours in acupuncture philosophy, technique and herbal medicine along with Western medical theory and assessment. Additionally, among many other post-graduate courses, in 2001 Debbie studied Chinese Medicine at the Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China, in 2003 she attended a year-long post graduate course in Japanese Medicine in New York and in 2005 studied Acupuncture for the Cancer Patient at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, also in New York.

Debbie is committed to keeping her knowledge and skill set on the cutting edge of her field. She specializes in the treatment of chronic and acute pain, women’s health, including infertility, adjunctive cancer and chemotherapy treatment as well as facial rejuvenation acupuncture, the holistic answer to plastic surgery.

Debbie is the proud wife of her husband, an avid pilot and volunteer fireman. Together they have two terrific children and are accompanied by one beautiful black lab.
